Why Plain Mode?
We spend hours every day lost in distracting apps. Plain Mode is designed to help you take back control of your time with two simple tools: block distractions instantly or set a daily limit that keeps usage in check. No tracking, no complexity, just focus.
What features does Plain Mode include?
At launch, Plain Mode has two simple tools:

Block Now – start blocking apps instantly.

Daily Limit – set a daily time cap in minutes.
What’s the difference between Block Now and Daily Limit?

Block Now: Instantly blocks selected apps/websites until you stop it.

Daily Limit: Lets you set a maximum number of minutes per day for selected apps. Once the limit is reached, they’re blocked until the next day.

Which devices are supported?
iPhone only. iOS 16+ is recommended.

Does the app need Screen Time access?
Yes. iOS requires Screen Time permission to block apps and websites. You activate this during onboarding.

Does Plain Mode work offline?
Yes. Rules are enforced directly on your device, no internet required.

Does the app collect my data?
No. Plain Mode is built on privacy: no tracking, no storage of personal data beyond what iOS requires. See our Privacy Policy.

Pro: Daily Limit – $3.99 per month, or $29 per year
Can I use Pro on multiple devices?
Yes. All iOS devices using the same Apple ID have access.

How do I upgrade to Pro?
In the app: Settings → Upgrade to Pro → confirm with Apple ID.

How do I cancel my subscription?
App Store → Account → Subscriptions → Plain Mode → Cancel. Access remains until the end of the billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are managed by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Does the app drain battery?
No. Plain Mode uses minimal resources and no heavy background processes.

The app isn’t blocking as expected – what should I do?

Check Screen Time is enabled and permissions granted.

Restart your device.

Update to the latest version.

Re-activate Block Now or adjust Daily Limit.
